Universal pull rope displacement sensor for lifting equipment

Cable displacement sensors have proven to be a practical solution in the field of long-distance measurement. By pulling the wire rope in and out, the wire-pull encoder converts linear motion into rotary motion. Depending on the application, these rotary movements can be used as drives for incremental or absolute encoders and can be displayed and evaluated via a digital display or controller. The main advantages of wire-pull encoders are their versatility, ease of installation, reliable performance in extreme environments, and a clear functional principle.

Wire-pull encoders can be used in almost all industrial fields. Of course, it is mainly used for the positioning of lifting equipment, cranes, drilling machines, excavators and conveyor systems. However, many more applications are possible in areas such as injection moulding machines, punch presses, presses, test stands, stages and sluices. Outdoor applications are also not a problem, if necessary, the pull-wire encoder can be detoured for use in liquids or high temperature conditions. When used in conjunction with incremental or absolute encoders, it becomes an efficient and affordable measurement system that fully meets the requirements of the relevant application. Wire-pull encoders can be combined with different encoders, so even fieldbuses can be used. Various designs ensure excellent linearity ratings over a lifetime of approximately 5 million strokes.
